Last weekend, the ZAP road racing crew competed in the HCA Virginia 8 kilometer road race. In what has become an annual tradition, team ZAP posted some fast times and high placings at this race. Cole Atkins led the way, finishing 3rd in a 23:18. He was followed across the line by Chris Clark (7th, 23:49) and Cameron Bean (8th, 23:51). Esther Erb finished on the podium in the women's race- completing the nearly 5 mile race in 27:36.
Inasmuch as it was just another strength-building, mid-season Autumn race, the ZAP athletes acquitted themselves well on the streets of Richmond.
Next up for ZAP
-Cole, Chris, Cameron, and Esther will compete in the Manchester Road Race on Thanksgiving Day. Manchester is one of the most prestigious Fall races in the country.
-The USATF Club Cross Country Championship is in Charlotte, NC on December 11. Members from team ZAP will race, but the final roster has not yet been determined.
