Landon is a native of Michigan, where he was a high school All-American before attending the University of Wisconsin. In Landon's 5 years at Wisconsin the Badgers placed in the top 5 at the NCAA Cross Country Championships 4 times. In 2008 and 2010 Landon took home All-American honors, finishing 21st and 20th respectively. He also captured 2 individual Big Ten Championships in 2010 winning both the cross country title and the indoor 5,000m crown. In Landon's first fall at ZAP he set a new PR in the 10k running 28:53 rabbiting his teammates. He followed that up with a stellar runner-up finish at the Manchester Road Race.
